Walk Through The Most Romantic Places in London

London has some truly inspiring places to visit and just walk around. Despite being a bustling capital city, it’s relatively easy to get away from the traffic and enjoy some natural spaces. Conversely, join the throng and sightsee some of the most famous sights in the world.

1 - Kew Gardens

London’s famous botanical garden is a true delight. From its humble origins in 1759 as a 9-acre garden established by Princess Augusta, Kew grew under royal care, with King George III expanding it massively in 1772 and further expansion and additions throughout the following centuries. Today, Kew Gardens has over 50,000 living plants over 326 acres of stunning natural beauty.

For the romantics out there, Kew provides a stunning location for a luxurious picnic, offers a range of events and exhibitions to inspire, and is simply a beautiful place to spend a long languishing afternoon.

2 - Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens

Right in the centre of London lies Hyde Park and its sister space, Kensington Gardens, both fabulous natural spaces rich with royal history. Hyde Park was once a hunting ground for King Henry VIII, but is now a beloved public park that contains the Serpentine Galleries for art lovers, the awe-inspiring Albert Memorial overlooking the Royal Albert Hall, and the delights of the Serpentine Lake where romantic couples can enjoy a rowboat or pedalo together.

Kensington Gardens, of course, is the grounds to Kensington Palace, the official London residence of the Prince and Princess of Wales. Visit the beautiful Italian Gardens or just walk through the serene locations soaking in the heart of London.

3 - Southbank and the London Eye

How about a walk along the Thames? Crossing to the Southbank provides a range of fun activities for couples in London.

Enjoy the impromptu delights of the street performers, visit the Tate Modern, or take in a performance at Shakespeare’s Globe. Prominently overlooking the river and with a view of the city is the London Eye, where it’s possible to book a private pod taking in the sights, along with champagne and other refreshments to really make the experience extra special.

4 - Regent’s Canal

Start from Little Venice and enjoy the canal boats and waterfront cafés of the area before heading eastward towards Maida Vale and Camden. It won’t be too long before you reach Camden Lock itself, where you can peel off from the canal to enjoy the markets and range of sumptuous street food stalls. After that, return to the canal path to continue through some of North London’s most vibrant locations, enjoying a unique view of this busting part of the city, swapping the busy roads for delightful canal bridges and hidden walkways.

Finish the walk in Regent’s Park where you can spend an enjoyable late afternoon in another of London’s beautiful centres of nature.
